Peace Mediation's Family/Civil Mediation Service, led by Deborah's expertise, empowers parties to resolve disputes cooperatively and creatively, minimizing stress and cost, while offering tailored solutions that understand the unique dynamics of each case.
Mediation is required by the Court in many instances. It is, however, a cooperative method to resolve the parties’ disputes in the least expensive, least stressful way possible.
In mediation, the parties hold the power as opposed to in Court. Here, the parties with the assistance of the Mediator work to resolve their disputes without Court intervention. The mediator assists with relaying information between the parties, defining their issues, and assisting them in coming to an agreement whether partial or full.
Mediation requires knowledge of the law, of the judiciary and understanding of the parties dynamics. Oftentimes cases may require creative thinking and outside the box resolutions to make it work for you. Deborah understands that no two cases are the same and strongly believes in the mediation process to help families move forward in Peace.
Special Magistrate
Special magistrates can be attorneys or former Judges or Magistrate’s and are often appointed by a Judge to assist in highly contentious cases. They are used to rule on objections in depositions or hear and rule on discovery disputes and pre-trial motions. Attorneys for each party may stipulate to a special magistrate on the case or have one appointed by the court.
Litigation Support / Trial Consultant
Deborah can assist with a fresh pair of eyes and her background on the bench to assist lawyers with litigation strategies and preparation of their case for trial. Whether it is framing direct or cross examinations, or reviewing financial documents and finding inconsistencies, her experience and assistance could be invaluable.
